Never start with recirculation because the air in the car is hotter than the air outside. Once the temp in the car comes down THEN put recirculation on

I turn my AC on max with the windows downs first letting the air push the heat out faster while the cold air is kicking in after a couple minutes I roll my windows up and be good with recirculating button on. But it’s good idea once the cabin is really cold turn the recirculating button off for a little while to help keep the moisture out the vents once the car is turn off.
