Keep leaving food out, they'll come back and check now. Once they're regularly appearing everyday, start making a distinct sound whenever you put food out, like a whistle. They'll learn that whistle = food and that you are the food bringer.

crows love cheese. I put out meat, cheese, eggs, peanuts, and bird seed. They always go for the cheese first.

I can't be more serious, TALK TO THEM!!!! even if you see them in the distance, in a nice tone, greet them and be as positive as you can when you do. I had a flock that always came to my garden but flew away whenever they could sense me. They didn't take my food at first either, I started speaking to them "good morning, hope you have a nice day friend" and they started to come feed more often and now they actually chill on top of my fence while I open it to take my car out 😂 They can mimic speech and give little answers if trained so I suppose they understand, maybe not the words but that you are trying to communicate with them in a friendly manner? Got my first gift from them a few days after I started talking too.

Add more shiny things and nesting materials! They will be more territorial of the area if they have a nest there

I find 'sharing' works. Go out with treats you'd both eat. Sit down and eat some, then make eye contact and throw a little where they can see it. Have befriended 3 separate flocks and bonded with one bird who would follow me home from school where I fed it chicken scraps from the family pie business and earned myself a hiding.

Offer an egg with other goodies. Drill in some washer on the stand so it reflects light like airplanes run ways, they also really like dog food. If you put a little bowl on the side they dip in water to soften it to eat. Yes they make their own cereal. 😂

Yes a fantastic idea befriending them. They keep the annoying and messy birds off our property too. They are so clever too.
