This sweet soul has been through more than we may ever know 🥺 3-year-old Moose is a very special dog who just hasn’t had an easy start in life 💔 Transferred from shelter to shelter, his past is a mystery, but his loving heart is clear as day 🥹 When he first arrived, Moose was suffering from Heartworm illness, as well as having severely worn down teeth 💔 These are signs that life hasn’t been kind to this sweet Retriever mix and he probably went without basic care for much of his life 🙏 Moose also is noted to have a head tilt to the right 🥺 Our clinic staff have determined that there is no evidence of an ear infection and both ear drums are intact. He likely had trauma or an untreated ear infection in the past that left him with nerve damage ❤️‍🩹 This head tilt is most likely permanent, but does not require any treatment. With proper care and lots of love, Moose is already showing just how resilient and affectionate he truly is! ❤️ Our veterinary staff have treated Moose’s Heartworm and he’s feeling so much better now. He will need to rest for 4 weeks and be retested before being cleared of the illness ❤️‍🩹 Moose enjoys getting out of his kennel and exploring our play yards. He loves people, and craves human attention. He is interested in other dogs, but is dominant when he plays with them. If you have a pet at home, you can schedule a dog meet and greet here at the shelter to see if they get along ❤️ Moose is ready for his chance to live the good life! Will you be the family that gives it to him? If you cannot adopt, please share for him 🙏 To adopt Moose, please fill out a pre-adoption application online (link in bio) and come to the shelter to meet her. The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL and opens daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, or would like to schedule a dog meet up, please call 954-989-3977.
