HOW I EARNED THIS IN 1 MONTH AS A STUDENT Since nung pandemic, naging business-minded talaga ako and nag-explore ng iba’t ibang ways to earn money. Natry ko na magbenta ng preloved clothes and items, mag-resell ng cosmetics and skincare. Naging Brand Ambassador, Influencer, and affiliate din ako. Nag-try din ako ng ukay bales, pero hindi talaga nag-work. Kasi ang ukay? Malaking sugal talaga siya. Hindi lahat ng makukuha mo mabebenta, mas marami pang patapon. So umisip ako ng ibang pagkakakitaan. Nag-try ako ng boosting at account creation. Pati pag-eedit ng layouts—kahit 20 pesos lang ang bayad, kinukuha ko. Kasi wala namang maliit na halaga kapag pinagsama-sama, diba? Dahil sa mga source of income ko na ’to, napapag-grocery ko na sina Mama, nakakakain na kami sa labas kung kailan namin gusto, may panggastos na ako sa school expenses at baon. Nakapundar na rin ako ng mga gamit gaya ng cabinet, damit, at ang first ever flat screen TV namin na niregalo ko sa lola ko. Masasabi ko na kahit papaano, unti-unting umaangat ang buhay namin. Pero hindi doon natatapos ang lahat. After that, nag-shift ako from editing layouts to pagiging Admin & SMM. Wala talaga akong alam sa industry na ’to. Wala akong kasama o taong nag-guide sa’kin. Ang tanging dala ko lang ay dedication na matuto at mag-explore. So nag-try lang ako. My experiences were the ones who taught me. My failures taught me how to become better. Kasi ang skills at experience? Kaya mo ’yan matutunan at makuha. Pero ang dedication, sipag, at tiyaga—mahirap kung wala ka niyan. Life taught me how to explore and step outside my comfort zone. Super mahiyain akong tao—introvert talaga. Palagi lang nasa bahay at tahimik sa school. Fast forward… lahat ng kaya kong gawin, pinasok at tinry ko. Naging Influencer Manager, founder of a Digital Marketing service, Video Editor, Executive Assistant, at marami pang ibang sidelines. Why? Since high school, pinursue ko na talaga maging self-supporting. Hindi na rin kasi nagsusustento nang maayos ang papa ko hanggang sa mag-college ako. Kaya ko naman umasa kay Mama, pero mas pinili kong kayanin dahil hindi rin sapat ang kita niya para sa daily expenses namin. Recently, I chose to make a big step in my life again. This time, gusto ko naman mag-work with international clients para $$ ang income HAHAHA. Hindi naging madali. Every time na nakakatanggap ako ng interview invitation, hindi ko dinadalo. Natatakot ako. Kinakabahan. Baka hindi ako makasagot. Baka hindi ko alam ang sagot at mautal ako. Baka hindi ako makuha. Baka magmukha lang akong tanga sa interview. May time pa na sobrang iyak at stress ko kasi hindi ko na alam saan kukuha ng pambayad sa bills—lalo na nung nagkasakit si Mama at si Lola at na-hospital sila. Malaki ang bills na binayaran, at nagkataon pang nawalan ako ng clients. I was devastated. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko. Nag-pray ako palagi kay Lord, asking for guidance, strength, and hope na sana bigyan Niya ako ng opportunity para magka-income ulit. Para mabayaran ang bills at loans. But all this time, He was there with me—sending opportunities, sending signs, guiding me. Maraming beses akong nananaginip, and it wasn’t just a usual dream. It felt like a message. So I listened. I let Him control my ship. All along, I was stressing myself out when God already had a plan for me. I just had to trust Him, have faith in Him, and let Him sail my ship.
