Don’t stay inside the park. Dining options are awful. All owned by corporations that don’t gaf about the parks or their workers.

As someone who goes at least once a year these are spot on. Binoculars, good ones, are a must. If you can a spotting scope is better. Staying in the park is key for early and late days.

I took my family to Yellowstone in 2005. We did a week and I still felt like we had only scratched the surface of the park. I would recommend a minimum of 10 full days.

These are all good tips. We went the week leading into Memorial Day weekend in 2025 and it SNOWED a couple of days! So definitely bring a light jacket. We stayed in Big Sky, Montana because it was “just” an hour away. It was beautiful but yes, that was awful driving that every day to Yellowstone and then you’re driving through Yellowstone itself most of the day. I ended up staying at our lodge a couple of days while the others went because it was too much. lol. But absolutely gorgeous & yes, i truly had no concept of how HUGE it is. 💜

We use the GuideAlong app in all parks we visit. Works like a dream in remote parks such as Yellowstone. It gives you a guided audio tour while driving in the park and also provides tips and tricks. We love it.

as someone who went snowmobiling in the winter at Yellowstone I can tell you it is an incredible experience. zero crowds. beautiful snow covered landscape.
