My late husband and I did, because we got married so close to Christmas. That somebody kind of started the tradition for us and then we just kept going with it. We made it to 20 years.

Hubs & I choose either the traditional or modern anniversary gifts. We don’t do an annual party, of course. That actually sounds exhausting. 😅

My parents got married at 18 but because my mom suffers from Hyperovulation the two of them went from no children to five children in just two pregnancies so it left very little time for celebrations 😭 so it was a set of twins followed by a set of triplets (my group yay 😆) followed by a stern talking to by her doctor and getting her tubes tied. Still now we’re older Mom and Dad can finally have their time to celebrate I think they had 15 years worth of anniversary celebrations in the space of a single year.

We have a family chat on fb, & my 80 yr old uncle congratulates all my cousins on their anniversary based off of their “suggested anniversary present” & I actually love a theme 😂

I think this might be a love language of mine but that might be due to my grandparents. My grandad gets my grandma a present every year matching what it traditionally is, and some of them are rather funky, but my favourite is the love letter he wrote her that is framed at the top of their stairs for their first anniversary.

my grandparents celebrated till their 50 something anniversary with that whole family, they didn't stick to those things, paper, pearls, crystal, but it was lovely either way 🥰

I use them as inspiration for gifts but not always:: and mostly for older family members like pearl and silver etc.. we did lanterns for our first anniversary… but that’s about the extent of us following the “anniversary milestones”
