To make a long story short. Most cars are interference motors and if the timing belt snaps, You basically need a new motor. You are better off finding a car with a timing chain that’s actually supposed to last the life of the car.

If your engine is a interference engine the piston head will smack the valves and bend them, if it’s a free wheeling the valves will be okay

I love how you thought you needed to sacrifice a good running engine to show what happens when a timing belt breaks. What about non interference Engines. If the belt snaps on a none interface engine its no big deal because the valve snap shut but an interference engine will leave the valve at there original position and smack the pistons
