I only needed to attend 1 funeral and that was the one I carried my wifes casket 2 months after she turned 30. And then a short time later to learn that even though we were both Christian that our union means nothing anymore and when I finally see her again in "paradise" she will be nothing more than an acquaintance of mine not the wife I adored. Ive had plenty of salt poured into my wounds for a life time

I had a moment when I visited my grandpas grave. I turned around and saw the vast field of graves and was struck by how every stone I see is years of memories, families, people mourning their loss, happiness, sadness. I felt overwhelmed in that moment

I’ve been to a lot of funerals. My one take away is in an imperfect world full of injustice. We can have hope that through Jesus we can have eternal life & that we should be more focused on making sure we’re ready and that the gospel has been preached to our loved ones/we’ve prayed for them.
