@amelialayng: The scale not saying what you wanted this week doesn’t mean it’s not working… But deciding that it’s not and giving up will. I’ve seen it so many times. Someone has their most consistent week, shows up, does the workouts, sticks to their calories and then the scale shifts the “wrong” way and it throws everything off. But that one number isn’t the full story, it never is. What actually matters is what you do next. Because the women who get results aren’t the ones who have perfect weeks they’re the ones who keep going after the imperfect ones, the ones who don’t let one weigh in dictate their effort. Time is going to pass regardless. In a few months, you could be noticeably leaner, stronger, more confident or still stuck in the same cycle of starting and stopping. That choice is made in moments like this. So instead of asking “why isn’t this working?” try asking: What would happen if I just didn’t quit this time? And am I actually willing to follow through? Because the only way this truly doesn’t work is if you walk away from it.

Do not for your own sanity weigh yourself the week before and during your period. It will naturally fluctuate, just stick to the habits you are trying to have and weigh yourself AFTER your period.

I tend to maintain or lose tiny tiny amounts for 3 weeks a month and then have one big drop. its taken me years to realise that's my normal and not give up but stay consistent. I've lost over 20kg so something is working!
