@drjude_: Here it is. No filter ✌🏾 1. Heart disease scares the 💩 out of me. You might look and feel healthy but your arteries might not be. Even with normal cholesterol. Keep an eye on that LDL, damage can start in your 20s! And your first symptom might be your last 2. You might not be “just a bit overweight' - you could be clinically obese? It’s not as large as you think. Excess body fat increases your risk of at least 7 cancers, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Body positivity shouldn’t come at the cost of your life. 3. Poor sleep is making you fatter, sicker and more anxious. As well as driving cravings by spiking gherlin (hunger hormone) and crashing leptin (belly full hormone). 4. Put the phone down and go to sleep! Poor sleep is independently linked to obesity, heart disease, stroke, depression and dementia. 5. 10,000 steps is cool but it won’t make you strong. If you’re not resistance training, you’re losing muscle every year — and that’s directly linked to frailty. 6. Your back pain isn’t bad luck. For MOST people It’s the result of your daily habits — sitting too long, weak core muscles, poor movement, stress, and being overweight. 7. You can’t out-supplement a bad diet and poor lifestyle. Protein shakes, collagen powders, greens supplements. None of it compensates for ultra-processed food, excess sugar and chronic dehydration. 8. Unless you want to be bingo lead at the nursing home, Strength training is non-negotiable. Especially after 35. We lose up to 8% of muscle mass per decade from our mid thirties. 9. If you develop Type 2 diabetes its largely a result of your lifestyle choices. For most people, it’s driven by a bad diet, too much body fat, and a lazy lifestyle — not bad luck or just genetics. 10. Why is everyone banging on about lifting/resistance training: Muscle regulates your metabolism (e.g easier to keep fat off), protects your joints, manages blood sugar (e.g reduced risk of diabetes) and is one of the strongest predictors of a long healthy life. 11. Chronic Stress is destroying your body. It increases inflammation, gut problems, hormonal issues and heart disease. It is not just in your head.
