The 2026 devices that were shipped with XOS 16 will be placed in the Quarter 2 Batch slot for their XOS 17 update, which is composed of • NOTE 60 Ultra • NOTE 60 Pro • NOTE 60 • NOTE Edge • GT 50 Pro • HOT 70 • HOT 70 Pro While the • HOT 60 Pro • HOT 60 Pro+ have the possibility of being placed in a later quarter, which is the Quarter 4 Batch slot. As you can see in the XOS 16 Rollout schedule before, they are placed in the Quarter 3 Batch slot instead of the Quarter 2 Batch slot, even though their age is the same as the models found in the Quarter 2 Batch slot. Because their update tier prioritization is very weak, as they have 3 major Android updates at a lower price. It really depends on Transsion how many device models they can cram in a single quarter. on the Infinix side, the maximum number of devices is often 7~9 devices, but if we are following the pattern from the previous roll-out, 7 is an adequate amount that they will be heading into. So the pattern will be 7-7-2, which is identical to the previous year's 7-9-3, as the ZERO 40 Series and Flip are gone after XOS 16 This roll-out schedule was based on these criteria which heavily influenced last year's XOS 16 official rollout schedule: • Release date of the model (When it was released?, if it's more older, then the tendency is that it will get it later than those that are newer) • Series of the model (If speaking of patterns, the NOTE Series has been the series that gets XOS updates firstly before the GT Series follows, and the HOT Series tends to be much later, like near the end of the assigned quarter range) • Tier of the model in the Series (If it's the first to the second top-tier offering of the series such as [NOTE60Ultra, NOTE60Pro],[NOTE50Pro+,NOTE50S], it will be the first mini batch to get the os update, and the lower tier will follow weeks or months later) • Chipset (If it's a NOTE 60 Pro, it could take a while, as they haven't figured out how to develop on this unique chipset rapidly [claim:16.3.0 update delay than MTK devices getting it first such as NOTE 60], but they are developing XOS 17 on this model, so this claim may also be not true but it could be) What are the delays to be expected: • Holiday and Chinese Holidays Their firmware is being developed and tested in their main office in china. So any holidays can affect the Roll-out. Having a Chinese Calendar prepared can let you know if they are actually taken off work. • Severe issues found by testers or when it is released When the firmware experiences issues in which affect the daily functionality and user experience of the device. The update will be temporary be in a hault process. So that users cannot install it via Online Update. Users who have prior knowledge can install the firmware via Local Update. • Google Mobile Services Certification for Play Integrity Each Firmware gets passed through a certification process by Google which can slightly affect the roll-out date Would the update take longer this year? TranssionOS has been getting streamlined over the past years starting with OS 15, this year with OS 16 the system components are heavily streamlined for more efficient and faster updates.
