Full story:On May 1, 2026, a 25-year-old woman jumped out of a moving e-hailing vehicle in Klang, Selangor, because she felt unsafe during the ride. The incident, which was captured by a trailing vehicle's dashcam, occurred around 9:30 AM near a petrol station in Taman Eng Ann.The passenger was traveling in the backseat with a friend when she became intensely anxious, claiming that the 47-year-old driver was repeatedly staring at her through the rearview mirror without a clear reason. Overwhelmed by fear for her safety, she suddenly opened the rear right door and leapt onto the road while the car was still in motion. The viral video shows her rolling on the pavement before quickly standing up to retrieve her belongings and gesturing an apology to other motorists.Following the jump, the driver immediately stopped the car to check on her. A passing motorcyclist assisted the woman, who sustained only minor injuries, and took her to a nearby clinic for medical treatment. The driver later filed a police report for his own protection, and some reports suggest he may have been a person with disabilities (OKU), specifically hearing-impaired, which might have contributed to a lack of communication that heightened the passenger's anxiety. The North Klang District Police are currently investigating the case under Section 336 of the Penal Code for acts that endanger personal safety. You can find further official updates on this investigation through the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Facebook page or read more about passenger safety protocols
