I read lord of the flies my junior year and uncontrollably cried when I realized we never knew piggy’s name. He was never considered human enough to be given a name. He was just a little boy.

I had to be excused from the class the moment I read piggy being bullied. I was a wreck in thinking about a little kid who just wants their mom. And then we got to this chapter and I was a mess. I couldn’t finish the book and my teacher said she’d never seen someone react so strongly to the book before. I still can’t reread it.
