Listen it’s just not on, especially when working people are struggling. Benefits shouldn’t be more than an average wage….

Just give benefits on a prepaid card, not cash, it can only be used in a list of approved shops and it's linked to the claimant.

A lady I know is a band 6 nhs OT (48k) she split with her husband and moved out of their mortgaged home and took on a rental, she discovered by dropping her hours to 16 a week she would get UC top ups which matched her income post tax… so she has and now only has to work 2 days a week

Not true and most people on universal credit are working and getting top ups because the companies out there employing people don’t pay enough

it's not that benefits need to go down they already only took up to a minimum living standards it's that the WAGES haven't met inflation year on year for about fifteen years!! wages should be so so much higher than they are and the big companies shouldn't be trying to increase profit for shareholders each year but instead put that profit back into increasing how much they pay workers. I was earning 20% above minimum wage at 19 now I'm 36 and am now earning just above minimum wage for the same job!!!

Every time I see this shoe they're having a go at benefits, never seem to talk about millionaire tax avoidance though, that costs the country billions every year.
