hi ex-cast member here! The captain eo theater was sadly not in great shape in recent years! I imagine that the company parted ways with the show because alot of the 4d theater effects weren't working and it was to expensive to maintain!

at this point I think that theater is too small for Captian EO and I think they should put it in the California adventure Hyperion theater and make that a huge IMAX type screen. that theater has approximately 2,000 seats and since the 4D effects don't work, just running it as a show could work.

I agree they should bring it back and keep it i first saw captain EO at 6 years old in 2013 I’m now almost 19 and would love to see it again at Disney

My biggest complaint is that they just let that theater in Tomorrowland in Anaheim sit empty. It’s really egregious.

My husband was a dancer in Captain EO! I took him for a surprise to see it when it was rereleased. It was so much fun for him to see it again.

There are two reasons why we will never see this attraction again or at least in the United States. Reason 1-the HBO documentary “Finding Neverland”. Reason 2- the film would need to be converted to digital. When they were re-released, they were released in the original film 70mm format. It would be very expensive for them to convert it over. Attendance at the Disney parks are not going to improve much with the addition of this attraction. In fact, some data shows that it may detour attendance. All prints and master prints were destroyed, and the original camera negative is currently in the library of Congress film archives.

They’d have to go through the estate and get permission from them. They’re very protective of Michael’s public image. They went to them before reopening it last time.
