Since then, it has been rebuilt every 20 years in a tradition called Shikinen Sengū. This tradition shows the idea of renewal and keeping things pure in Shinto belief. Ise Jingū is actually a group of many shrines, but the two main ones are Naikū (Inner Shrine) and Gekū (Outer Shrine). Naikū is dedicated to Amaterasu, while Gekū is dedicated to Toyouke, the deity of food and agriculture.
