@pitochk: We’ve talked many times about medicine-its fields, its future. Maybe it’s time to talk about its past. But I doubt any server could hold all the stories this science deserves-the people who dedicate their lives to it and the impact it has on humanity. Doctors are incredible-strong, endlessly intelligent, resilient like steel. Supported by nurses and medical staff, and driven by scientists who create new treatments, technologies, and medicines. Together, they embody the most humane side of humanity. Strangers spend years of their lives learning how to save others. That’s something truly astonishing. It’s no surprise that anthropologists often mark the beginning of what we call “human culture” from the moment early forms of medicine appeared. We know that even Neanderthals treated their sick using medicinal plants. We’ve come a long way, preserving and developing medicine as an essential part of every human society. I hope it always remains so-and I hope those who dedicate their lives to it receive the recognition they truly deserve. #medicine #humanity #Science #edit #healthcare
