Yeah, I don’t understand either. Is also the shaving our girl mustache “so that we don’t resemble” man, but Allah created us that way.. like yes, I’ll shave my mustache, but what sense does it make that that isn’t changing what Allah made as well ????

When I asked ChatGPT it says that it’s permissible if you do stray hairs, so it’s best to stay away from your eyebrow line so I’ve been doing that because I also don’t fully understand it either

I think the idea is that shaping the eyebrows is considered beautification, while removing hair from other areas is more about hygiene. And those areas are covered anyway, so they’re not meant to be seen

In the Hanafi madhab it is encouraged to remove body hair for both men and women as when performing ghusl or wudu the water can definitely reach every area almost certifying your cleanliness for prayer as there is nothing blocking the path to the skin. Your eyebrows can be dyed- some dye the top and bottom blonde to give the illusion of plucked brows but to actually remove the hair is beautifying yourself for others, the one except if to pluck between the brows (no monobrow)

Salaam sis, to my understanding on the topic (as someone who researched previously bc I’m a hairy girl) I think that shaving or plucking hair is permissible as long as it doesn’t “alter your body features” when it comes to things like eyebrows or if you have a mustache. Some scholars say is not but most say it’s permissible specially if it’s something uncomfortable (like a unibrow), as long as you don’t alter the natural shape of the brows (like making them super thin). The rest of the body has no issues, it’s personal preference even though armpits are encouraged

i’ve been trying to research this as well. I’ve read that you can remove hair from middle as it’s not considered your “eyebrow” but not to touch the underside?

As a revert I think this is down to personal relationship with Allah I don’t think I am being punished for tidying up my eyebrows ect from stray hairs I also have pcos so I do wax/puck my facial hair (tash and chin) I’m sure Allah would consider this part of taking care of myself rather than excess beautification

I think removing/plucking ur eyebrow hair to shape them is not permissible due to the Prophet frowning women from shaping their eyebrows as this in the Prophets time was a symbol (shaped eyebrows) of prosies✨ so I think due to the symbolic meaning it’s frowned up on whereas removing other body hair is done more for maintenance and cleaning purposes.

Sister, that’s a good question. From my understanding, the difference comes down to intention: hygiene is encouraged, while unnecessary alteration of natural features is avoided. There’s no real need to pluck the eyebrows beyond beautification, whereas removing other body hair is part of maintaining cleanliness and purity, which Islam strongly encourages.

shave and pluck imo because it’s all the same no matter how they want to package it. it’s misogyny to think u have to shave ur i.e legs for ‘cleanliness’ when that isn’t true otherwise men would have that standard but mostly women do their brows and that’s frowned upon now..? yeah i think ur fine and the ‘changing creation’ opinion is a reach 🫶🏾🫶🏾

Salam sis, as a bushy-brow girly i’ve been doing lamination because it makes it more manageable. As for the body hair we’re meant to remove them because of Najasa (being dirty) and we’re meant to not pass 40 days without removing because it holds bacteria. Whereas eyebrows fall under ‘beautifying’ not najasa ❤️and don’t forget that anything that is haram is haram because its harmful. Now i’m not sure about the details but apparently plucking hairs around the eyes can affect vision or nerves or smth i’m not too sure hut i just know its harmful. Hope this helps xxx

So i’m getting the idea from the comments that it’s because plucking eyebrow hair is for beauty and that’s why it’s haram

You don’t have to shave your legs if you dont want to, it all started in 1910s, with Gillette introducing the female razor and now its driven by beauty standards . And ur pubic hair is removed for hygiene reasons. The only time you can pluck your eyebrows if you have a unibrow as a woman . Pubic hair and eyebrow hair is completely different. Your mindset is a lil off
