I visited Dubai once and they told us there are many, many rules about visiting and living there that you must follow-like the one you mentioned. Beautiful place to visit, but I love my freedom

It was great when I went. We got a penthouse nicer than most I’ve stayed at in the US and spent about 100 USD a night, the indoor ski resort at the mall was unreal, and the revolving restaurant on the palms tasted great and wasn’t anymore expensive than the “nice” restaurants you’ll find stateside
