Why would you buy a $23K car for a 16 year old? My first car was like $1500 my dad paid for. And then once I upgraded I only spent $13K on a new one. $23K for a 16 year old is insane

My kid has opted not to learn to drive. But if he did, the plane was he got his dad's 12-year-old Nissan versa and dad got to go buy himself a newer used car. Kids don't start out with a $24,000 car.

My parents bought me a car that was “theirs” to use. After I finished high school they gave me the option to buy it at at the Kelly blue books price and I took it! Ended up having it for over 10 years

we took a car loan out for our 16 yr old and he paid off every bit of it all while graduating highschool with honors and working full time. not everyone has a bad experience with this.

I got my first car at 18 and I was a 2600 2013 Kia Sportage, it needed work on it, I don’t understand parent buying there kids 20k cars !! That’s insane to me. Like Ik you love your kids but now you put that debt on them when they didn’t ask for that.

I did for my kids what my parents did for me. I let them use my vehicle, I don't need it majorly of time, I paid the gas for only school and school activities, anything else they paid for. I gave them a year after high school to get their own vehicle. worked out pretty well for us.

My parents bought me my first and only car at 17. At 18 I got a job and paid for it myself. I still have it and it's been paid off for years. I can't imagine getting a car and not being grateful for it.
