@braiding.seagrass: The Hooded Nudibranch   ⋆✴︎˚｡⋆(Melibe leonina) ⋆✴︎˚｡⋆ This clear, fairylike sea slug attaches itself to kelp and sways with the current. Using its oral hood lined with wispy tentacles, it catches small crustaceans and planktonic life. They produce a sweet, watermelon scent from its glands as a deterrent to predators. Like most sea slugs, Hooded Nudibranchs possess both male and female reproductive organs. So when two meet, they reproduce and leave behind tightly coiled ribbons of eggs. They provide food for sea stars and crabs in the shallows, keeping the ecosystem whimsical and biodiverse. 📸shot on iPhone 16 pro
