I love that my kids grades are posted to an app I can access. So the teacher doesn't even need to call me, I am already on his case. My son hates it. 😄

Agree regarding Parents. Straight up. Call the folks. Unfortunately, most parents don’t return calls, or even answer. I’ve had to get creative and find other people if the problem was severe enough. I taught middle school. I had 250 students a day. Usually, I try to call every family at least once before there was a problem. Get best numbers, alternate numbers. Grandparents. Aunts. Always prepared with what was special and successful about their kiddo. Then, when I needed that parent support, I had already laid down that initial contact. School started in August, my goal was all parents reached by Open House in September.

The parent can do a hell of a lot more than the school, like get them the help they need. Obviously there are some cases where you can’t because of safeguarding but 8/10 times you can

I used to have a piece of paper in elementary that my teachers would fill out and it was like the traffic light system. Wrote notes at the bottom and said what needed to be worked on
