@thatautisticelf: On this day.🌱 It's called Autism Spectrum Disorder for a reason! If you cannot do the same things as low support needs autistic folk, that is absolutely okay! Remember: there are different levels which are recognised medically. There is absolutely no shame in being unable to do something, whether that is work, school, speaking, socialising; anything at all. Every human has their own unique set of abilities; having a neurological disability doesn't change that. It is a proven fact that exposure to therapy does not work on sensory difficulties, so forcing your autistic child to "get used to" their sensory struggles is abvse. However, social difficulties can be mitigated through exposure therapy if done right. #actuallyautistic #asd #autismawareness #neurodivergent #onthisday
