So hear me out: one of the rules is he can't make anybody fall in love, and Jasmine would never have fallen for him if he was an actual prince, so by faking it so that he would not actually change who Aladdin was, he actually set him on the only trajectory where he would actually marry the princess, fulfilling his wish to become a prince.

This is an awesome analysis but I’ve heard that genies typically don’t ever truly fulfill your wishes because they are tricksters because most people would wish for selfish gains so he’s in his natural essence😂

the story of aladdin is being told by the genie, therefore the hiding of the genies trickery by the film is part if the genie artistic intent. also aladdin never noticed the trickery, he needs a genie lawyer.
