People missing the point entirely. The game isn’t “dead” but the game also didn’t “succeed”. Love it or hate it, whatever your opinion it doesn’t matter. The fact of the matter is Bungie needed this game to hit like a top of the line Call of Duty release. It needed to hit like 17 million sales to be profitable. It didn’t, even if you want to be the biggest diehard defender and suspend reality and believe the game even hit half that number (it didn’t) that is still a colossal loss in revenue for Bungie. All of the money that they could’ve eaten off the top of with micro transactions is now going to have to go straight to just trying to recoup losses. If they are willing to let it continue to survive that long.

wrong. Marathon players are over 80% steam players. Thats been verified by Sony. Its a niche genre that is late to the party and caught ripping assets. Tarkov was in beta for 10 years. Marathon released as 1.0 hoping for a 1 to 1 player base with Destiny 2. That was never a possibility. Marathon cant even beat Hunt Showdown, much less Arc Raiders or Tarkov. Simply put: Marathon cant compete in the already small genre when they are late, half baked, and dreaming of players that dont exist.

This is roughly the same player count as hunt showdown. It’s just what this genre does. Tarkov is unique as it also attracts the super hardcore crowd. I think Marathon is a great game and I’m looking forward to playing it for years like Hunt.

Marathon is the most unenjoyable extraction shooter with randoms. Either you’re stuck doing lame fetch quests all match or they open everything you open and try and take everything before you do.
