The same thing happened here in Cutler Bay. One explanation that the manager gave me was competition, and the other reason was that Publix normally negotiate lease terms above 10 years, and they don’t like to break them, so they would rather live out the whole term of the lease than have to pay a substantial amount of exit money.

They are not closing that one the older one they’re keeping it, they kept it for their core clientele who been shopping there forever the new one is more for new shoppers you have students and Instacart

It’s all about real estate for them. Don’t let Aldis or WD come close. In Oakland park there is a Publix across the street from another Publix(Dixie and commercial) and I only go to one. Both lots are always full
