Fun Fact! Alex Hurst wanted to do this with "Book of Bill", but found out that if you make different versions of a book, they need different id numbers (the little code that designates the book), so people could just identify, then purchase each variation. So... cool idea, but not possible.

This would work really well with a cluedo type novel where there's different books with small differences in the clues themselves, and obviously the last chapter where the culprit is revealed. I'd make different colored, but same-art covers representing all the different characters, and put the covers specifically corresponding to the versions where they're the culprit. I think it would be fun.

or hear me out a fantasy novel where the final villain has the power to rewrite reality and when it hits the final fight with him he rewrites one of the events that happened let's say in book two where he got a sword a legendary sword but now he's rewritten the event where that sword is just a normal one and you stop production of that version where you got the legendary one and start production of the one where he got the normal one then you have true reality manipulation from a fictional character

I’m going to favorite this for when I actually publish my first book and get more famous…thanks for the idea! Also I would tell them I published 12 books with different endings when they figure it out but I only published 11 to the world!
