So I guess no one on here has ever seen a RV fridge?

and it's all driven by an outside source... it still boils down to electric or gas. now if you could run this on say a charcoal heater or something similar then it would be very useful if you have no power... or live off grid.

I invented a system with no electric use to chill and freeze back in 1982 based on work I did in the 1970s. A bit different. Like a backwards solar panel.

kerosene absorption fridges trade efficiency and versatility for simplicity and off‑grid capability, which is why they’re a bad choice in most electrified, safety‑oriented households.

This is something my 1996 5th wheel camper used as an off grid selection using propane

So basically a closed loop solar water heater system with ammonia added to it and a coil in an insulated box

Dometic and Norcold still make them. When installing one, make sure the unit stays perfectly level so it'll work with gravity and not against it. 🥰

My fridge on the worst month middle of summer used $14AUD for that month. such if you used that figure for the whole year = $168AUD. typically it uses between $8-12 tho. and that's not excluding what my solar offsets

Well found out the build will cost around $1500 and will need a lot of space and deal with toxic chemicals. Solar PV + Regular refrigerator build is more practical

That's how camping fridges work. They run on propane gas or 12/24 volts

British Gas made a kitchen fridge that ran on gas sixty years ago. I also had a gas powered fridge in my old camper van.

So… a modern fridge connected to a solar panel is 4 times more efficient?

its squeez, remove heat, expanded. if you dont remove the heat from the squeezed refrigerant then it doesnt work.
