I used GetYourGuide and got the ticket, private tour guide and accessibility to climb the mountain for about $225. Booked it a week before, was worth it to me

Machu Pichu is the only thing I booked in advance for latam. I’d recommend doing the 2 days Inca trail future travellers, because cba with the mess around at aguas calientes!! It’s an easy 10k hike and you enter in the sun gate in the afternoon take your money shot pictures with no crowds or clouds. Then go back the next morning for a guided tour around 2 circuits.

wtf I went in 2024 and we just queued maybe 15 mins for a ticket at 7:30am and got a ticket for the same day. Had time to stop at a cafe before we left for Machu Picchu that same day 😅

There is actually a easier way to get tickets even when they are sold out. Restocks happen quite frequently. There is a service called machuping.com which aggregates them and sends you an email when a restock happens for your dates!
