It makes sense as a street-level setup: Matt Murdock (Daredevil) ends up in prison, while Fisk is out of the city and not directly in control. That creates a gap in New York’s protection, which lets The Hand become more active and dangerous. With Daredevil locked up, Spider-Man steps in to keep the city from falling apart, dealing with The Hand’s operations as they start spreading across New York. At the same time, Punisher gets involved because he sees The Hand as a threat that needs to be taken down directly. So the situation turns into a rescue-and-war storyline: Spider-Man and Punisher are both fighting The Hand, while also working toward breaking Matt out of prison or exposing what really happened to him. Even though they don’t fully agree on methods, they’re forced to operate around the same goal stopping The Hand and getting Daredevil back in the fight. Overall, it becomes a shared street-level conflict where each character has a role: Spider-Man holds the line, Punisher applies pressure, and the end goal is bringing Daredevil back to help finish the fight.

I assume he won’t do much in Brand New Day, maybe a small cameo or at most assist in the prison fight before returning to captivity. I don’t see them breaking him out in a Spider-Man movie it’d mess up the ending to people who didn’t watch BND
