I always have ground beef at home and I try to do something a little different with it instead of the same old  recipes. #EasyRecipe #familymeals #cookwithme #DinnerIdeas #groundbeef  Ground Beef & Onion Au Gratin Ingredients: * 2 lbs ground beef * 6 potatoes, thinly sliced * 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced * 4 cloves garlic, minced * Salt and pepper, to taste * 2 cups heavy cream * 2 ½ cups milk *  5 tbsp flour * 1 1/2 cup grated Parmesan  * 1–2 tsp Worcestershire sauce *1 tsp dried oregano *1 tsp dried thyme * Butter or olive oil (for cooking) Directions: 1. Sauté onions      * In a large skillet, heat butter or oil over medium-low heat.     * Add onions with a pinch of salt and black pepper and cook slowly until golden brown and soft add garlic and cook for 30 more seconds . Remove and set aside. 2. Slice potatoes and put in water to rinse. Dry off and sprinkle with a little salt then cook in oven at 400f for 15 minutes to draw out the moisture. This will prevent the final product from being watery. 3. Brown the beef:     * In the same pan, cook the ground beef until browned.     * Add, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.     * If using a higher fat ground beef strain some of the fat out. 4. Make the sauce:     * Sprinkle flour over the cooked beef and stir for 1–2 minutes.     * Add onion and garlic      * Slowly whisk in milk and heavy cream. And then add the worstershire.     * Simmer until thickened slightly, then stir in 1 cup of the Parmesan until melted and smooth.  Taste for salt and pepper. 5. Assemble:     * Layer half the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.     * Spoon half the beef mixture over the top.     * Repeat with remaining potatoes and beef mixture. 6. Bake:     * Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes.     * Uncover add the rest of the Parmesan and bake another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden on top. 7. Rest and serve:     * Let it sit for 10–15 minutes before serving so the sauce can set.
