@rogueoperationshistory: The 1960s were the Wild West of Soviet Tank Engineering. In this rare footage, you aren't looking at standard T-62s. You’re looking at Object 167 - a 40-tonen beast strapped with solid-fuel rockets designed to "jump" over anti-tank ditches. But it didn't stop there. Wait for the end to see the Object 906T. The Soviets actually ripped out the diesel engines and replaced them with Gas-Turbine Jet Engines to fight in the sub-zero Siberian winters. One was a rolling bomb; the other was a fuel-hungry vacuum cleaner. Both were peak Cold War madness. Which one was the bigger disaster? Let's settle it in the comments. 👇 #ColdWar #SovietHistory #T62 #SecretProject #TankWarfare #Engineering #MilitaryHistory #RogueOperations #Experimental

TSL1050 :

To be fair, the U.S. Abrams tank actually does have a turbine engine instead of diesel, so the Soviets weren't that far off.

I really do love how the Soviets would make a prototype for damn near every monstrosity someone could think up just to see what it could do

it was probably used to make a tank that has sunken to mud get going. a very common reason to abandon a tank is when it gets stuck in soft soil
