@dr.michaelpark10: A skin exam is not always just about looking at the skin. I recently saw a patient with a history of melanoma from over a decade ago. During the exam, I checked his lymph nodes and felt a lump that ultimately turned out to be metastatic melanoma. It was a reminder that follow up after melanoma can involve more than just looking at moles or scars. A thorough exam may also include the lymph nodes, especially in patients with a history of melanoma. Not medical advice. Just sharing an important clinical reminder and educational story from training.
It goes to show that you are not just a pretty face, you are also smart and caring! I hope your patients appreciate how you actually care and that you have the knowledge needed to help them!
