Imagine just not using impact guns on everything... imagine just using a ratchet or spanner on tough/seized nuts and bolts so you can get a feel for what's happening and act accordingly, either a wire brush and penetrating oil, heat, cold, and backing it out and in again so you don't run into this situation...

impact socket is 6 sided & heavy ( as it's the mass of the sockets that have the inertia to undo the nuts )

For one use impact sockets and secondly hammer a smaller socket on it and yes it does work ,I can just tell you haven’t even tried to hammer a socket on the nut
