That small grin Homelander gave was such a huge tell. For once, someone treated him like an actual person instead of a monster or a god. The Legend kept it real with him the entire time, even calling him a whackjob to his face and weirdly enough, that honesty is exactly what Homelander wanted. No fear, no worship, just someone being genuine with him.
