is there a way to explain ferritin that remains very high after an infusion for 18 months, even when crp is normal but transferrin sat and serum iron have fallen significantly, causing symptoms of iron deficiency? can the ferritin be somehow unusable or inaccessible, or empty of iron? Or is it more likely that the crp is false and inflammation needs to be found or tested in another way? Is ferritin more sensitive to inflammation than crp?

please publish your literature/findings to all GPs. I feel alot of them have no idea what they are actually looking for when lt comes to iron deficiency and low ferritin. half don't even bother to recheck levels or order the correct tests 😮💨

I’m wondering, I was anemic years ago and they put me on 14 tablets a week, and then they stopped monitoring it a couple years ago and my ferritin is now at 333 I have heart disease so I decided to stop taking those, after just seven days I feel a difference in my breathing today is day nine and there’s definitely a little more labored breathing when I’m walking up hills. Is this just my new normal? Did I just get hooked on iron tablets?

Before my iron infusion my ferritin was around 36 and saturation 17%, but after infusion my ferritin dropped to 29 and saturation to 13% even though hemoglobin is normal. I also have major bloating and a GI-MAP showing high zonulin/leaky gut markers. Could gut inflammation/malabsorption be causing poor iron absorption or utilization?

What happens if your ferritin was 108 I’ve had a abnormal fit test of 69.4 my ferritin is now 53 nails brittle etc trans saturation 26% serum unsaturated 66 so I’m confused coz I’ve just been dismissed
