It’s super possible someone canceled their reservation last minute which is why that time popped up online - I always keep an eye out for that when a place is booked. BUT you know what it feels like in your gut when people are discriminating. Listen to that.

That’s because open table buys seats which means they are not available at the restaurant. It’s the same with airlines (which I work for) they sell seats to other companies like Expedia which means if you call the airline direct they don’t have the seats out the price.

I don’t know if I would feel a way unless the hostess attitude gave that. I’ve done this at multiple restaurants 🥴. Walked back up and said oh I don’t realize my husband made a reservation 😅

It appears you would only have a problem if after the online reservation was made, you returned and still was not seated. It looks like all is good including the food.
