@jake.pnw: You Have to See What Lives Between the Tides ‼️😱 The intertidal zone is one of the most extreme habitats on the coast. It’s the area that gets covered by ocean water at high tide and exposed to air at low tide. That means the animals living here have to survive crashing waves, drying out, changing temperatures, hungry birds, and being underwater one hour and exposed the next. This is where you’ll find sea stars, anemones, mussels, barnacles, crabs, limpets, snails, chitons, and sometimes even octopuses hiding in cracks and tide pools. And here’s the wild part: some animals in the intertidal zone are built to clamp down, close up, stick tight, or hide until the ocean comes back. So when you walk through tide pools, you’re not just looking at rocks and water. You’re looking at animals surviving one of the toughest places on the planet. #Learning #Education #Animals #Nature
