Yoruba have never hated Igbo, the reason there’s tension today is because some Igbo people took politics as a reason to start disrespecting millions of Yoruba people instead of trying to work with their neighbors. If something happened in Lagos, they’d put it on the entire Yoruba people that are all over the world that has nothing to do with Lagos politics. That’s why some Yoruba people are fighting back these days. Not out of hatred, but to combat unreasonable disrespect. We’ve never hated Igbo. Why would we hate Igbo? There’s no reason for us to have hatred for Ndi-Igbo. We know a lot of Igbo today hate Yoruba, and we don’t understand why. Everything that happens in Lagos happens to Lagosians regardless of tribes. Yoruba people have lost houses all over Yoruba land due to political policies. In Lagos, Yoruba, Edo, etc have lost houses too. These are things that should be expressed in a better way. We’re all victims of colonial one Nigeria, let’s learn to talk to one another about what we’re facing so we can understand each other better. Our enemies don’t want us to unite in our respectful ways. That’s the one thing that will destroy their mission in Africa.

I am Yoruba. I truly love Igbos. Up till now, I don't understand why Igbos are always saying Yorubas hate them. The village I grew up during and shortly after the war, the Igbos were in our village. I remember Uche, Boda Bonny ( we add Boda the same way we respect our elder brothers), Ngozi and others. A true Yoruba elder will not allow you to discriminate against Igbo. How the hatred story become registered in the mind of Igbos is not clear to me till now. Adekunle Fajuyi had an option, but he chose to die alongside Aguiyi Ironsi, still many Igbos still think Yorubas hate them!
