IMO it all just like everything comes down to do you know your stuff. If you already have an understanding you get boosted, if you don’t you hallucinate alpha. I love gold old mr Jim Gatheral and know his SVI inside out, so sure if I can use agentic AI and subagents to help create code and make it efficient than by hand cos I understand and have applied concepts in real risk (assuming proper design/architecture etc) I will and have been doing it, but you get someone that just asks LLM to generate X or Y without understand the what’s and whys it’s destined to be ruined imo.

If you created claude skills, rules etc with your domain knowledge would you not see better results. Rather than just prompting and hoping for the best

My experience from claude opus 3.X to claude Opus 4.X has been night and day -> reading literature on quant work, strategy design, and understand edge farming has helped me bridge gaps, I shoot for highly segmented modular repeatable architectures that are easy to open up, and just extreme drill down on nuances of modeling (orders, fees, regime awareness etc.)
