@h5_mamaventures: Replying to @Farmer mom/Barb We need extra farm income to keep this family farm alive and Papa’s 1982 Peterbilt might be the answer. We found it through an old photo in an envelope and somehow brought it back to the farm. Now we’re working on a Peterbilt restoration to get this old semi truck road ready again. My husband is renewing his CDL so he can use it for farm income and side hustle work. We’re looking at $5,000 to $10,000 in repairs…suspension, engine leaks, air leaks, gauges and tires. Papa used this truck on this same farm, Now we’re trying to use grandpa’s Peterbilt to keep it alive. If this works this truck will have helped build this farm twice! #farmincome #firstyearfarming

oil cheapest at a walmart. if drives have good thread no dry rot run them for a month or so. steers with age absolutely change. check the bushings, replace shocks, wheel seals, clean the radiator & air to air, replace all belts & hoses, fix your leaks that you can, gauges, and service the 3 boxs( if you plugs have metal as long as its not chunks run it). all this he can do! check the king pins too! jack it up pry up on bottom of the tire & top of the rim through a rim hole pry up using the drum. movements bad & no movements good!

I’m lucky my Grandpa is 91 and my uncle and Dad still work the farm! I live on the farm and I would do anything to make sure this farm stays in the family! KEEP GOING! I’m cheering for you and your family ❤️‼️

In the mean time, if your back is against the wall, you dont need a cdl to drive one with a farm tag. Second, he better hurry, theyre coming out with a 160 hour mandatory school to get it.

It sounds like we all need to be binge watching your videos and pushing all of the buttons. How much of the work on the truck can be done by your husband and boys?

Those 359’s are the best trucks made. I have a 1976 model. Little tight in the cab for big guys but they are very good trucks. Getting his cdl is going to take a few weeks in a certified school which is the biggest headache. Following for updates on this truck and how it works out for yall.
