Love Story sells the dream of modern Cinderella getting her ultimate prince through CBK - an extraordinary working woman whom everyone can relate to. The idea is that “all I need to do is having an ambitious career, developing a cool personality, having a distinctive style and flair, and I can get a high profile man”. Hence the show can gain viewers. Meanwhile in real life, she’s born and raised in a wealthy background, literally upper middle class with both parents working high paid jobs which offered her top tier education and comfortable upbringing. And they didn’t delve into the much more toxic sides of CBK-JFK marriage. Everything was rendered in a heavily romanticized lens. The couple wouldn’t last for long if they have survived the crash.
