@economyvodka: Unfortunately I saw those comments and videos too. What is wrong with this place truly? . . . . #spiritairlines #traveltok #politics #fyp #usa🇺🇸
another thing I find crazy is that stadiums are built with tax money yet private businesses are profiting from them. that's so insane. it might be the same in the UK though.

Ryanair and Spirit “affordable”? You book it for $50, then end up paying $500 in fees and add-ons. No wonder they should be out of business 😂

17000+ people lost their job and in aviation seniority is everything. People who worked there for 10 years just lost all the time they put in and if they apply to another airline, they have to start over. Starting pay, less flight privileges, no say in their schedule (if you work in aviation you have to wake up at crazy hours and adjust to other timezones. Being with an airline longer gives you priority when it comes to adjusting your schedule)

I may sound weird but as an aviation geek, a world without budget airlines would be boring. The aviation scene would be lame AF lol.

That is why nothing changes in America. I’ve flown Spirit and I’m not happy that they closed.

Ive never been in a plane before and now it just seems even more daunting if I ever get an opportunity that I’ll need to fly to 😔 I really wanted to ride on spirit bc it was the only affordable option :(

also I think this has to do with why public transit is stigmatized in the US

On the plus side, people are actually putting money in to buy it. Which would make it the US's first public airline

I've always had generational poverty, I worked 3 jobs to save up and finally get me and my son passports so we could travel and now flights are over $1000 to go even just 6 hours away (driving time) well never be able to now

I’ve never taken a spirit flight in my life and tbh had no intention to do so. But obviously this will cause airfares to get even more expensive as competition decreases

I knew a guy from NY who flew from Berlin to Budapest and waited 6 hours at the airport (in Vienna if I remember correctly) because he didn't want to fly with Wizzair. Make it make sense.

I liked Spirit and wish they'd survived, but they did start becoming a rip-off. in 2024 their prices were so high, I couldn't justify going to see that incredible eclipse.
