I am a heroin addict and recovery for 12 years and I'm also someone who's been on medication since 8 years old he just decides not to take it because again I'm an addict and I promise you withdrawing from SSRI is absolutely not the same omg!!!

I would never compare the two, but Effexor was actually horrible 😳😭 I do wish they had warned me more beforehand. I fully expected lots of withdrawals are still far worse and it makes me very sympathetic to how hard that battle is. Addiction is awful 🥺

When my son came off of Zoloft even though we did it much slower than the psychiatrist said was necessary he was still having massive headaches every day for weeks

I've stopped cold turkey from multiple antidepressants over the course of my life. I know it affects people differently but it's so far away from heroin detox, it's insane

I’m bipolar. You name the SSRI, I have quit it cold turkey. I am off and on them like a revolving door. I don’t feel withdrawal from them at all anymore.

I had a terrible time tapering down off anti depressants. Anti depressants save my life daily. I am so deeply thankful for the medications.

I am in month 25 of severe protracted antidepressant withdrawal with akathisia. I haven’t had lexapro for 25 months. THIS IS WORSE THAN HEROINE!

Thats funny because my doctor suggested I stop taking my SSRI while I was pregnant. I felt a little rough but not at all like I was withdrawing.

Yeah I stopped my ssri once (I didn’t know I was bi polar then) and it sucked but was less than when I detoxed from booze. I can imagine heroin would feel worse.
