He came into the shelter with his mama, Luna, the only thing that made the cold concrete and echoing walls feel safe. He is barely five months old — still a baby himself — and everything around him is too loud, too big, too confusing. Each sound makes him flinch; each shadow makes him shrink. Luna has been adopted, and now Quinn sits in kennel D57, the tiny space around him suddenly heavier, quieter, emptier. He may still have her nearby, or maybe not — we don’t know. But imagining him there, pressed into the corner, eyes flicking to the gate as if expecting her to return, breaks your heart. He doesn’t understand why comfort isn’t there, why the one warmth he has always known might be gone, why the world suddenly feels so cold and endless. Quinn isn’t “difficult” or “aggressive.” He is a scared, fragile baby who has never known true safety. And to make things worse, the shelter has now put this little puppy on the euthanasia list.
