He’s absolutely right! I lived 6 years in the UK and wasn’t able to save a penny. I came with savings but left with nothing. I then moved to the US and was spending way less per month and managed to buy a property after 2 years

The uk is a survival mode, the progression ladder is practically non existent and taxes make it essentially useless to even progress because you don’t wanna earn more to just get taxed nearly half of it.

I don’t consider a 6 figure salary success so I think it depends on what YOU perceive as success and your dream!! I have free health care, beautiful country walks and safe schools and brilliant education. I get to travel into Europe easily and learn other cultures and traditions without having to earn 6 figures to do that.

In UK, people try not to make more when the peak £100k. Because the tax bracket from 100k to 125k is 60%. It’s daylight robbery. People who get over 100k by switching jobs, appraisals or bonuses they do salary sacrifices by putting more money in pension etc to avoid 60% tax trap. I 100% agree with this video.
