@yourmedmentor: A new ADHD medication is currently under FDA Priority Review, and it could be a meaningful option for adults and adolescents who have not found relief with existing treatments. Centanafadine is a first-in-class triple reuptake inhibitor. That means it targets three neurotransmitters at once — dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Most current ADHD medications focus only on the first two. Adding serotonin into the mix may make it especially relevant for ADHDers who also struggle with emotional dysregulation, overwhelm, and nervous system imbalance alongside the typical focus and attention symptoms. Centanafadine has completed successful Phase 3 trials and is now under Priority Review by the FDA, which suggests there is interest in expediting access to a new mechanism of action. This is news worth tracking. But remember — medication is one tool in the system. It works best when paired with the systems, environment, and lifestyle structures that support your nervous system as a whole. Follow and comment SYSTEMS to learn more about ADHD management — with or without medication. Save this and share it with someone who needs to hear it.

I’m more interested in the articles starting to come out about GLP-1’s helping ADHD people. Specifically their impulse control. I witnessed this myself back in spring of 2025. I even stopped binge eating until I was traumatically triggered by an event on December of 2025. I just started a new 3 month treatment today and already there is less noise. They are considering a clinical trial to test the effectiveness.

So it’s like taking Wellbutrin with an SSRI. Most of us who have been on this rollercoaster already know not only is it not revolutionary, but that we can just skip it.

After nearly a year of trying, I finally settled on a combination of venlafexine, lisdexamphetamine, and guanfacine that is working pretty well.
