I enjoy learning this. I am now 🤔 puzzled by the toaster type situation. Couldn't you "clean" it prior to the first use very thoroughly and it be safe? Also as long as it's not plugged in... and you let it dry thoroughly you probably could get it wet just have to let it dry very well. * I have in fact washed my toaster entirely*

As a fellow Jew, I have the deepest kavod for those who are full on shomer mitzvos. Sometimes I forget just how many extra requirements are incorporated into your daily life. I remember going with my nephew to the mikvah before his wedding to kasher his new silverware and pots and pans. It really felt good and pure to assist him. Not a burden. Really just felt elevated helping with this mitzvah.

I’m curious- it seems in keeping Kosher standards there’s a lot more single use plastic. Is there an opinion or approach to avoid plastic for environmental reasons? No criticism at all I’m just curious on your thoughts
