@futureshelf: 🪖😳 This Helmet Opens From the Back ⏳ Using an “occipital opening” system, it lets you put it on and take it off in seconds—even with gloves—without needing a chin strap. #technology #innovation #engineering
It is called the djagger helmet by roof. they have some of the most innovative helmets I've ever seen. I'm extremely interested in this

Until the mechanism gets damaged and you can’t take it off quickly after an accident

Imagine an emergency responder or good Samaritan not knowing how to remove this. 😮

No mention of DOT approval should scream “don’t buy this…it’s not safe”

I’m guessing it also can open manually. If not, that should definitely be added, wouldn’t want this thing to get stuck on anyone if it’s damaged in a crash.

Cool idea but more moving parts, higher likelihood of failure or if any of those parts are damaged from an accident...good luck getting it off for first responders.

It's a moving part... When it breaks, that's it😒

I love the concept but I'm worried about EMTs not being able to remove it during an emergency.

Everyone is on about DOT approval. DOT is meaningless. US standards are nothing more than a piece of paper saying, "Yeah we tested it, trust us bro."

wish it had some sorta lock on the outside of something. looks like if you for instance fall off backwards, it'll slide up instantly

Everyone mentioning DOT approval: I know standards help when it comes to safety equipment, but PLEASE look into the DOT approval and the lack of testing it requires. Helmet testing/safety NEEDS to be improved.
