The new version of the New Day didn’t work. Maybe if the went back to the old schtick it might have worked. It’s like having an old player on nfl team, you can’t pay them for what they were. It’s not hate it’s seeing what is best for the company.

So new day had its run. Ok fine, stieners did too. Creative and the tag team new to heel turn one member and create an angle. If new days contract was a one off, rumours are TKO asked several others to renegotiate, ok. Now you’re signalling to the wrestling community and current talent that the contract they signed is not worth anything because TKO can back out at any time. TKO is rapidly losing credibility. High ticket prices and WM that was subpar. New day will make a good living off their name in the indies. Another bad take by Eric.

The problem was that they did something big with them which was one of the most talked about segments, & then proceeded to book them (and tag team as a whole) like garbage. So WWE are the ones who made people think they were washed/past their prime because of terrible booking. Not New Day’s fault.

It’s less the value of the new day as a current asset and more the risk of any contract being renegotiated without an attempt to maximize the asset. Since nobody can bring in money without being a part of the show it kind of ruins the idea that an asset has no worth if they aren’t used on the show
